An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Council’s Early Childhood Services team, as Early Childhood Team Leader. The post is full time permanent, 36 hours per week. The Council operates a flexible working arrangement in fulfilling the required hours. The role will be pivotal to the Councils delivery of the “Children Ready for School” Pledge, specifically in ensuring vulnerable children reach their full potential.
The purpose of the role is to lead, co-ordinate and deliver effective early childhood services through a locality main hub and various satellites across South and West Wirral. In addition to manage interventions that respond to the needs of children and families in the area, demonstrating improved outcomes.
An essential aspect of the role is working with families across the spectrum of need. Demonstrate high level of skills in tracking, recording and analysis of engagement with professionals and services. Report writing and presenting at Advisory Boards or other relevant strategic/operational meetings. Deliver training and professional development opportunities to staff and key stakeholders.
The post holder will lead a team of staff to deliver against a performance framework, monitor and observe practice offering appropriate challenge to ensure high standards are maintained. In addition, will have comprehensive understanding of the complexities of multi-agency working and communicate effectively to create positive working relations.
The post holder will be educated to degree level in a relevant discipline/related subjects (eg early years, education, health or social care). Be conversant and up to date with Early Years, Child Protection and Health and Safety Legislation and Policy. Have a sound understanding of early help assessments and be able to co-ordinate services to match the assessed need. Be able to demonstrate inclusive practice and good knowledge of equality and diversity.
