Specifically, we are seeking a Consultant with a strong econometric background who has demonstrable experience of measuring economic impact and value. Our Consultant will confidently design and deliver insightful research and robust evaluation. Using a wide range of methodologies, they will answer complicated, high profile research questions that help our clients make informed, evidence-based decisions.

You will:

  • Develop robust and innovative methodologies. With strong research and evaluation skills, you will be expected to develop innovative methodologies that draw on econometric best practice to answer our clients’ increasingly complex research and evaluation questions. You will take intellectual ownership of projects, ensuring as it progresses, our approach continues to generate the insight and understanding that our clients require, whilst still remaining appropriate, deliverable and profitable.
  • Intelligently and accurately interpret research findings. Astute, analytical and methodical, you will intelligently analyse and synthesise (often disparate) data to answer research questions and develop a ‘story’, key insights and implications from the data. A natural communicator, you will effectively disseminate results and findings through a variety of means including concise reports, stakeholder workshops or presentations.  You will apply mental dexterity to frame results in their policy context and develop actionable and insightful recommendations rooted in evidence. The work you will do will be important as it will help our clients to make informed decisions and set future policy that really makes a difference. 
  • An unwavering commitment to data quality and high quality analysis and reporting. Quality is at the heart of all research that we carry out. You will deliver projects to excellent quality standards and meet both client and internal requirements, continually seeking and ensuring innovations and improvements from a methodological, technological, operational and profitable point of view.
  • Be instrumental in our growth. With an ability to nurture client relationships, you will also ensure repeat business through exceptional quality, insight and value. Alongside this, you will support our growth through identifying and creating opportunities to grow existing and win new business. This means that you will write compelling, well framed, deliverable and winning proposals.

You will be:

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level (or equivalent) and have at least three years’ experience of working in a research environment managing (or commissioning) client facing projects. From this they will bring deep knowledge and understanding of developing research and evaluation methodologies and overseeing their implementation. You will be adept at using research to assist clients to meet their wider objectives through designing and delivering research projects that meet their specification.

You demonstrate intellectual curiosity with a strongly developed analytical mindset. You are quick to assimilate and make sense of wide ranging, varied and complex information, and just as quick to distill this down and convey it simply and concisely to others. You will be enthusiastic about using research to inform and contribute to government policy. You will have strong interpersonal skills, and experience of managing clients as well as staff. You will have excellent communication skills, being able to confidently and articulately convey results, conclusions and recommendations to a variety of stakeholders.

Your commercial astuteness combined with your ability to inspire means that you not only write convincing and winning bids, but that you motivate and manage your team to deliver on time, in scope, to budget and to client satisfaction.
