The Organisation:

We are now looking for a Librarian to join us on a part time basis, working 30 hours per week.

Your Role: 

As a Librarian, you will be tasked with the management, development and promotion of the school library, ensuring it is an effective resource for pupils and staff. 

Joining an existing team of two, you will make sure that a happy, harmonious working atmosphere is always present in the library as it is at the heart of the school. 

Your role will also include: 

- Working closely with heads of department, especially the Head of English 
- Creating and implementing policies and plans for the library 
- Promoting the Accelerated Reader programme 
- Enhancing the appearance of the library through high standards of visual display and promotional material 
- Managing library staff and taking responsibility for their personal development 
- Supporting staff and pupil inductions to the library 
- Overseeing the library budget 
- Cataloguing, classifying and indexing library resources 
- Supporting the work of the Prep School Library, sharing resources and initiatives 

About You: 

Although no experience is necessary, the ideal Librarian will have: 

- Experience as a librarian 
- Knowledge of Heritage or a similar Library program 

Other organisations may call this role Librarian, Resource Centre Manager, Archivist, School Librarian, Library Manager, Library Specialist, or Library Officer. 

Please note, the closing date for this role is the 29th May 2018. The expected start date is September 2018. 

This is a part time role working Tuesday and Thursday 9am-3pm and Wednesday and Friday 9am-6pm.
