Security Officer
Location: Slough
Hours per week: 42 hours per week - 4 days on & 4 off days and nights
Package: GBP11.75 per hour + Pension, Holiday, Uniform, Overtime, Ongoing training

MITIE Security is currently looking to recruit a Security Officer to join our South-Eastern region of the Total Security Management Unit. Our Security Officer will be working with a well-recognised global manufacturer of confectionery, pet food and other food products on a permanent basis.

Reporting to the Operations Manager the Security Officer will be responsible for, but not limited to, creating a safe, secure and trusted visual security deterrent for all colleagues, clients and customers; internal and external premises patrolling; personnel searches E.G Bags; Bag Searches; Pat Down Searches; and any other security support required to meet the needs of the business.

A typical Security Officer 's day may look like this:

• The Security Officer will monitor all alarms, CCTV and other security systems when required - controlling the access to site buildings and carparks for all colleagues, customers, clients, contractors and vehicles - Checking the ID of all ensure they are permitted to be there.
• The Security Officer will be detecting and preventing theft, vandalism or any other form of crime/ anti-social behaviour, reporting to the Security Operations manager if need be - Providing monthly updates and reports on suspicious sightings, emergencies and arrests.
• Providing relief cover to the Reception staff for breaks, holidays and Sickness.
• The Security Officer will be acting immediately on all emergency situations that arise in a professional MITIE standard manner, retaining complete control until the arrival of external agencies and/or police, liaising with them if required.
• The Security Officer will be promptly dealing with queries, requests and complaints, providing a swift solution and reporting to the correct Security body if need be.
• The Security Officer will need to be knowledgeable of the client building and local area so they can direct or assist customers if in need.

Our Security Officer will ideally have:

• Experience in Security environment/position or equivalent
• Impeccable Communication skills, Customer and Colleague Working Relationship skills, Organisational skills & Ability to remain calm and professional
• Flexible Approach to work to suit the business needs.
• DVLA & use of a vehicle essential.
• SIA accredited.
