PROJECT OFFICER - ECONOMIC INTEGRATION OF SYRIAN REFUGEES. FLUENT IN ARABIC AND ENGLISH

The UK national agency for information and expert advice on international qualifications and skills, is providing recognition and evaluation of qualifications and skills of Syrian refugees in Jordan. This service, delivered on behalf of the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, compares qualifications, skills and credits attained in Syria directly to Jordanian educational standards.

Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of a Project Officer in this context would be to:

  • Meet with potential recipients of the evaluation statements such as employers, professional and regulatory bodies, universities, vocational education providers and other sector bodies to explain the value of the statements and ensure their acceptability
  • Channel refugees to the service through engagement with existing charities, organisations and other funded projects as well as directly in camp community centres
  • Promote the service through a variety of media channels including social media, print media and radio air time
  • Manage relationships with in-country logistical partners for the efficient production and distribution of the evaluation statements
  • Organise and conduct seminars and events on skills shortage areas, employment induction programmes and the Syrian education system
  • Produce clear reports for UK NARIC senior management, which will in turn feed in to reports provided to the UK government
  • Assist with the production of internal and external publications such as newsletters, e.g. through interviews, photos, news stories
  • Respond to queries about the project received through dedicated communications channels
  • Set up and process applications for the qualification recognition service
  • Distribute flyers and other information documents to relevant stakeholders
  • Monitor the effectiveness of processes and provide feedback on potential improvements
  • Be flexible and able to respond to new challenges and developments relating to the project
