Logistics Coordinator - Central London EC2A

Our client, a major International office furniture manufacturer is recruiting a Logistics Coordinator as part of their small, busy team in the company's central London showroom.

The role centres upon planning and arranging inbound sea-freight and outbound deliveries and supporting the Operations Manager and Supply Chain Administrator.

Specific Duties Include:

• Develop relationships with freight forwarders and hauliers, negotiating prices and terms
• Communicate with and organise freight forwarders to manage inbound sea-freight and outbound worldwide sea-freight
• Book transport and sea-freight with 3rd party haulier companies and forwarders
• Liaise with the warehouse facility regarding deliveries and dispatches
• Work closely with the Supply Chain Administrator assisting with raising purchase orders and communicating with suppliers
• Assist and cover for the Sales Order Processing when required
• Organise courier deliveries and maintain delivery and installation schedules
• Liaise with logistics departments at other companies in Canada and Malaysia
• Work within the operations team with the Operations Manager and Customer Services Manager and Supply Chain Supervisor to maintain and improve efficiency

Qualifications & Skills Required:

• Confident with IT systems and proficient in Microsoft Word & Excel.
• Accurate and with an attention to detail and good written and verbal communication skills. Good listener with confident interpersonal skills.
• Well presented, organised, able to manage time well and work independently; enthusiastic, hardworking but with a sense of fun.
• Versatile and adaptable with the ability to set priorities and achieve objectives.
• Educated to Degree or Diploma level and must have experience of a similar logistics role.

Salary to £27,000 plus (depending on experience). Other benefits include – pension, healthcare etc.
