Our client is looking to recruit an IT Systems Support Advisor to be based in Bloomsbury Central London, on a full time, 12 month fixed-term contract, with a salary up to £33k.
Maintaining and supporting the IT systems at two different locations under guidance from the IT Manager.
This includes 1st to 3rd line support on laptops, servers, network infrastructure, Citrix Virtual infrastructure, office AV, photocopiers, telephony and mobile devices that are used on/ offsite.

The IT systems support advisor Principal Accountabilities:
  • First point of call for IT support
  • Provide IT support to office members
  • Support users of the Citrix virtualised desktop infrastructure
  • Set up audio and visual equipment for events and meetings on/ offsite
  • Day to day running of the Helpdesk ticketing system
  • Provide new staff IT inductions and training on the IT systems
  • Offer hands-on training to both new and existing members of staff on hardware and software in use
  • Ensure SLAs are enforced through the use of helpdesk reports and the category system
  • Assist the IT Manager with upkeep of the Comms and Server room 
  • Setup, configure, install and maintain laptops, monitors and any tablet devices
  • Prepare and install new laptops through imaging technology such as WDS
  • Maintain mobile devices
  • Setup and maintain the Mitel hosted telephone system/ Reception Console
  • Perform server administration tasks
  • Perform client management using Office 365
  • Keep distribution, security and email groups accurately updated
  • Have a solid understanding of and maintain the network, including knowledge of VLANs, patch cabling, switches, routers and VPNs.
  • Install, maintain and troubleshoot networked multifunctional devices.
  • Deliver remote access installations, including the occasional off-sites visits
  • Data management of network stored files/folders and email mailboxes
  • Support ‘TimeTracker’, a web based time tracking application
  • Continue Anti-Virus updates for all PCs and Servers, using Sophos Anti-Virus
  • Observe and maintain windows updates
  • Monitor backup procedures and provide fast file restore services
  • Maintain IT systems in the absence of the IT Manager
  • Responsible for preparing and delivering webinars
  • Provide remote meeting equipment setup and training for conferencing (tele/ video).
  • Promote the use of remote meeting software, offering training and demonstration of the latest features and technology
Skills, Knowledge & Experience required from the IT systems support advisor:
  • Update and continue to enhance the IT Asset Database (Access), provide essential reports on assets that are offsite, owned by office members and have upcoming warranty expirations
  • Create and manage IT user forms such as equipment hire, new starters etc.
  • Write and maintain user guides/ other documentation
  • Manage software licence subscriptions
  • Monitor and provide assistance with ad-hoc research and information gathering of developments in IT
  • Improve the IT infrastructure with better monitoring, reporting and analysis tools
  • Revise and develop IT protocols and guidelines
  • Contribute towards the IT Policy, Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plan and any technology changes
  • Participate in-house training and/or specialist IT training
  • Develop IT skills and knowledge on the job and through formal training
  • Provide website assistance with basic HTML editing for the FDF website
  • Undertake other tasks as directed by the IT Manager
  • Occasionally the post-holder may be required to work outside of FDF’s normal office hours in the event of an urgent IT issue, project, event support or configuration to the network.
  • Issue staff security passes.
  • Report on data volumes
  • Proven IT support experience on 1st-3rd line tasks.
  • Appropriate level of skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office 2016/ Office 365, Windows 7/10
  • Administrator tasks in a server operating system (Server 2008-2012), including Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, Exchange Online and Group Policy
  • Support and administration of Citrix Zen App / Zen Desktop and business telephone systems (preferably Mitel)
  • Understanding of networks with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues
  • Experience in a desktop support environment within a small IT team
  • Apple Mac experience
  • Experience of delivering webinars / remote meetings
  • Knowledge of cloud based technologies
  • A team worker with good communication skills and ability to support users of varying IT levels
