JOB TITLE: Business Development Director
LOCATION: Sheffield, South Yorkshire
SALARY & BENEFITS: Attractive salary depending on experience, plus excellent benefits package
WORKING HOURS: Monday - Friday 09:00 - 17:30
THE COMPANY: Johnston Press are a leading media company within the UK with brands including The I, The Scotsman, Yorkshire Post, Sheffield Star, and Portsmouth News. Our digital audience is nationwide and we reach over 24m users a month across mobile, desktop and tablet.
THE ROLE: Reporting to the Managing Director of our Media Sales Centre, this role at Johnston Press will be fundamental in further building and driving the growth of our desk based B2B development team based from our Sheffield office.
As a newly established team it provides a great opportunity for the Business Development Director to shape its direction and build significant growth across our national SME client base.
THE CANDIDATE: The Business Development Director will be a high calibre individual who will join Johnston Press and drive forward its digital and media offering across the SME market. The successful candidate will have a background in developing an outbound B2B team, with experience gained within the Media, IT, Telecoms or Business Services background.
As we grow this Sheffield based team further we are looking for an experienced Business Development Director to drive our outbound team forward and able to demonstrate the following experience:
• Track record of building an outbound B2B, desk based acquisition team, delivering significant growth in revenue and customer numbers.
• Detailed understanding of sourcing, manipulating and utilising new client data to maximise engagement rate.
• Ownership and/or involvement in B2B marketing programmes to generate client/interest/response.
• Demonstrable understanding of best practise in contact centre systems and processes.
• Track record in best management practices in managing activity, pipelining and conversions, maximising returns and continuous improvement.
• Clear understanding of best sales behavioural practise and experience of implementing and managing sales development programmes.
• Experience of developing acquisition focused value propositions easily consumable by SME clients
