LPG / Gas / Technical Engineer
Chesterfield Commutable from Sheffield, Rotherham, Derby and Nottingham
Salary £30,000 negotiable depending on skills
Our client is a leading supplier of LPG for homes and businesses across the UK. Renowned for excellence in delivering value and a high quality service, they pride themselves on going above and beyond for their customers.
They currently have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Engineer to manage non-compliant sites through the resolution process, in order to find commercially and legally appropriate solutions.
You’ll also integrate into the Technical Team and support all activities where necessary including, but not limited to, project advice, HSE interventions, engineering queries and policy/standard development.
Responsibilities will include developing an approach for the technical resolution of non-compliant sites as well as developing training and competency in-line in the field of technical resolution. You’ll also be responsible for administration, monitoring and reporting of key performance indicators and the quantification and risk assessment of sites and submission of supporting documentation. You’ll arrange remedial works with internal and external labour, carry out face to face customer liaison and conflict management as well as technical engineering, sales support and ownership of site safety reports from creation to closure.
Our client is looking for someone who ideally holds an Engineering Degree or equivalent and who has A Levels or equivalent with skills in Engineering-based subjects (Maths, Physics, Design, Graphics) or demonstrable LPG experience in the relevant field. A full clean driving license is required as well as LPG technical understanding, UKLPG Codes of practice and knowledge of the Pressure Equipment Regulations, PSSR, PUWER and ATEX.
You’ll be competent in the use of computing tools and will have the ability to analyse, construct and run reports from various software platforms, ensuring accuracy and cleanliness of data. Good time management and organisation skills are a must combined with a flexible approach, experience of risk assessment, documentation and control, and the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical people. Strong customer focus and the ability to converse and influence/persuade customers and stakeholders alike is also important.
