This role is predominantly office based and requires a significant level of proactive organizational, administrative and Excel capability.
Experience within a logistics based environment is essential.
Good communication skills with customers, suppliers and internal departments alike are essential.
Stock Movement
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Manage, organise and plan the movement and distribution of goods into and out of the business
• Keep company records accurate, organised and transparent on the IT system according to shipping and receiving records and warehouse activity.
• Control and monitor stock enabling the flow of goods in and out of the warehouse.
• Deliver the right products to the right location on time, ensuring each consignment has documentation and is traceable.
• Managing the deliveries for goods into the premises and any offsite locations.
• Attend training and to develop relevant knowledge, techniques and skills
Inventory
• Manage physical paperwork (Sales Orders, Purchase Orders and Delivery Notes)
• Utilize the SAGE system to find information and provide information for others
• Update shipping and receiving records: online and physical paperwork
• use IT systems to manage stock levels, delivery times and transport costs
• use associated information systems to coordinate and control the order cycle
• use data from IT systems to evaluate performance and quality and to plan improvements
• allocate and manage staff resources according to changing needs
Shipping Materials
• Receive new Sales Orders and manage reports
• Prepare shipping paperwork (delivery/pallet notes etc.)
• Book on consignments for outgoing (UK and International) orders
• Continually try to improve and develop business performance within the constraints of legislation, fuel costs and rising environmental pressures
Receiving Materials
• Schedule and manage incoming freight/shipments and bookings
• Liaise with warehouse, production and purchasing regarding goods in process
• Arrange for the return of any damaged materials

Qualifications and Education Requirements
• GCSE Maths and English, Grade C or Above
Essential Skills
• Minimum 2 years Logistics experience
• Good knowledge of Excel
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret shipping manifests and identification labels
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
• Knowledge of math skills
Preferred Skills
• Ability to do some computations on-the-spot/mentally
• Ability to recognize different sizes and measurements
• Ability to operate company computer software (Sage)
• Manipulate the SAGE system to find information and provide information for others

• Experience of World Wide / international logistics
