Functional Skills Tutor (Teacher, Assessor, Trainer)

Our Client is a leading employment support and training services company, helping people to transform their lives and businesses through work, training, education and financial advice. They help people move into work by enabling them to gain the skills they need to make them employable, providing them with real work experience or helping them onto a traineeship or apprenticeship.

They are currently looking to appoint Tutors in Functional Skills in Warrington. These are permanent, full time positions.

As a Functional Skills Tutor you will deliver innovative, engaging and motivational learning sessions to our learners. Developing their skills, knowledge and behaviours, you will support them with their longer term goals and career aspirations.  

Within the role you will plan, prepare and deliver lessons to groups of Traineeship and Employability learners who require Functional Skills and Work Preparation skills, supporting them into secure sustainable work. Sessions will be well panned and should develop the learners’ skills, knowledge and behaviours.

They are looking for someone who has DTTLS or PGCE / Cert Ed or equivalent. With a Level 5 subject specialism in either Math or English or significant experience of delivering Functional Skills from Entry Level to Level 2, you will also have experience of working with learners with various complex learner needs, as well as the unemployed and those who have barriers to employment.

With the ability to display a wide range of teaching methods to engage learners from all ages, abilities and backgrounds, you will be driven to deliver the best employer or industry led skills training.

Due to the nature of the role a DBS check is required.
