Getting things to happen how they should, when they should, and within budget, is both a science and an art. On this programme you'll learn exactly how it's done. The programme duration varies between two-four years, depending on local business needs, but is aimed at developing you against the Association for Project Management framework and toward project management chartership. Over the course of the programme you will be developed through placements on real projects, project assignments, formal project management qualifications, and you will receive mentoring from some of the top project professionals in the engineering sector.

Where you can join us

Places on our Project Management programme for Autumn 2018 are available within our Marine (Bristol or Leicester) business area. But no matter which team you join, you could be based anywhere in the UK. That's why we ask all our graduates to be flexible and willing to move during their programme.

What you'll be doing

Expect to work on every kind of project - from design and manufacture to in-service support and capability enhancement projects. Whatever the task at hand, risks need to be identified and managed, stakeholder requirements satisfied, and the whole thing delivered on time and to budget.

Along the way, you'll develop strong relationships with colleagues in commercial, financial and procurement functions over the course of the programme. That's because watching our finances is as important as watching the clock when delivering a project. With that professional network behind you, you'll have everything you need to tackle anything that comes your way.

What you'll get out of it

We'll help you become a true professional. Because our programme is based on the Association for Project Management (APM) Body of Knowledge, you'll get experience in all the key elements of the APM Competence Framework. Combine this with learning from the best project managers in industry and support from your own mentor and you'll be ready to go for the APMP qualification. And let's not forget a competitive starting salary of GBP28k - GBP30k.

What you'll need

You'll need a minimum of a 2:1 Bachelor's or Master's degree. You'll also need to satisfy the MOD's security requirements (and may need to complete a medical assessment).

*Depending on location, role and qualifications.
