An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our growing bespoke electronics company. We develop and manufacture electronic systems to meet our customers’ precise needs, working across a wide range of sectors including Automotive, Aerospace, Military and Commercial.

We are constantly striving to improve our products and processes to ensure they reach the highest possible standards and are currently seeking a CAD Design Engineer to enhance the team and assist us in achieving our goals.

The CAD Design Engineer Role:

You will work as part of a team of 10 Engineers responsible for the design of electronic controls for the automotive industry. The work involves the design of electronic enclosures, including injection moulded components, and small wiring harnesses. A part of the job involves the preparation of PowerPoint presentations to convey new concepts to project stakeholders. 

Successful candidates will have the opportunity for full project involvement from conception to volume production. 

About you:

Applications are invited from candidates with a good HND (minimum) in a mechanical engineering discipline, with experience in the following:

+ Catia v5
+ Electronic packaging, ideally for the automotive industry.
+ Preparation of assembly drawings
+ Small wiring harness drawings
+ Design of injection moulded components.

In addition to your technical skills, you will need the following:

+ Understanding of component costs and commercial awareness
+ Previous experience of working in a product manufacturing environment
+ Teamworking

You may have worked in the following capacities:
CAD Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Design Draftsperson.
