Job Title - Shift Team Leader
Location - Head Office, Redhill
Reports To Shift Supervisor
Salary: £21,171 increasing to £22,500 after probation (6 months).
Shift: 4 on 4 off, Days 1000 hrs to 2200 hrs.
Responsibility: Team of 6 operatives plus 1 Team Leader (this position) and 1 Supervisor
Environment: Chilled (around 5 degrees)
Responsible For
Responsible for assisting the Shift Supervisor in achieving all daily objectives of the Warehouse Operation
Purpose
Participate in Shift briefings and ensure daily objectives are communicated across whole team
Ensure all Operatives are productive and working in accordance to the days instructions and within all company processes and procedures
Authority and accountability
Utilisation of all appropriate PPE whilst working In warehouse areas
Ensure compliance with all BRC standards, processes & procedures
Awareness and compliance with all organisation policies relating to Food Safety and the handling of Food products
Awareness and compliance with all Health & Safety policy & procedures
Awareness and compliance to all Fire Safety Procedures, including the maintenance of clear Fire Exits and escape routes
Ensure customer service levels are achieved and surpassed, through continual improvement measures and the monitoring of individual and team performance level
Key duties
Accurately pick and assemble orders as per the pick sheet, or RF or voice technology instructs
Check both picked and remaining stock, record & report any errors to the Shift Supervisor
Ensure any Pick Face contains relevant stock, with the correct labelling in place. Report any discrepancies to Shift Supervisor or Operations Clerk
Check pallets and cages are correctly labelled and compliant, when required, with the appropriate SSCC pallet labels
Safe loading of pallets & cages onto vehicles, without damage
Coordinate the regular cleaning and tidying of the warehouse to maintain a safe working environment
On completion of appropriate training, to comply with all mechanical handling equipment procedures in line with the organisations standards
Respond quickly & efficiently to Company, Customer and depot requirements
Participation in depot stock take, as and when required
Continually strive to minimise environmental impact of the operation, through monitoring waste disposal volumes and processes
In addition to these duties, you will be required to carry out additional tasks from time to time, consistent with your status and abilities
Key outputs
Assist with training of operatives, as and when required
Depots accurately recorded on Load Manifest and cages scanned onto vehicles
When required, check picked stock to resolve discrepancies, coordinate others to rework a pick if required
To be smart and presentable whilst in the workplace, ensuring company issue clothing is clean and tidy
Person Specification
Strong numeracy skills
Strong communication skills
Experience of leading and motivating teams
Understanding of different approaches for training & development
Good understanding of all H&S issues relevant to a Warehouse environment
Good understanding of Warehouse operations and process
Forklift licence
Lead by example, demonstrating best practice at all times
