Manufacturing Engineer

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join this business, based from their Loughborough site.

This is an exciting time to join this business with their rapid expansion; the Manufacturing Engineer will be key in develop and improves the manufacturing processes for complex composite components and assemblies, supporting current production as well as the introduction of new products into the manufacturing and supply chain environment.

Responsibilities:
- Provide significant expertise in developing a range of engineering solutions to improve the manufacture of new and existing composite products.
- Participate in developing and maintaining documentation for manufacturing processes and designs.
- Improve manufacturing efficiency by analysing and planning work flow, space requirements and layout.
- Transfer new products into production and leads First Article Inspection (FAI) process.
- Liaise with customers and suppliers in order to evaluate requirements and implement robust engineering solutions.
- Solves problems in straightforward situations; analyses possible solutions using technical experience, judgement and data.

About you:
- Degree in relevant engineering field of equivalent combination of work experience.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six-Sigma.
- Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft and statistical tool analysis.

Desirable:
- Knowledge of composite materials and manufacturing processes.
- Experience in completing First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs)
- Experiences of working with pre-preg, sandwich constructions, autoclave cure, adhesive bonding abd NDT techniques.
