World renowned thought leaders and specialists in the provision of electronic Trial Master File (eTMF) systems and services to the global pharmaceutical market, are expanding rapidly. Due to the company's growth they are currently on the lookout for a detail oriented, analytical and enthusiastic Front-end Developer to join the team.
The purpose of this role is to develop software tools within their Technology department for both internal and client use.
This position requires strong technical and communication skills as well as both independent and team working. It involves:
- Building, testing and delivering cross browser compatible front-end and some mid-tier code, according to company Software Development Life Cycle procedures
- Ensuring good quality and efficiency of all software delivered
- Developing automated User Interface tests to validate the delivered software which will feed into the Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery process.
- Peer-review and constructive critique of code produced by other members of the development team
- Assisting with development support of Software Applications
The role includes working closely with all other areas of the Development team, Testing team and the rest of the Technology department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and build user interfaces that provide an effective user experience, across several new and existing software projects
- Ensure all code developed conforms to the Software Development Life Cycle SOP and Coding Standards.
- Ensure all code produced is performant and tested prior to being handed for peer review.
- With guidance from the team's test resource, building reliable and rerunnable automated UI tests to exercise the application from the front end, to facilitate CI and CD.
- Develop your skills and expertise in their technology products and the development technologies and methodologies used.
- Participate in Sprint Planning and Backlog refinement activities as required.
- Travel as required to other sites within the company for meetings and training (this is expected to be no more frequently than once a fortnight)
Skills and Experience:
- Commercial experience in front-end web development, ideally within the Microsoft technology stack, HTML, CSS, Less, JavaScript, jQuery, etc.
- Exposure to JavaScript frameworks (such as Knockout, Angular, React) would be beneficial.
- An understanding of good user experience design principles.
- Ability to use prototyping tools to produce visual examples of a development requirement.
- A passion for technology and developing your own technical skills
- A results oriented individual with the ability to work to deadlines, communicate and work effectively with other team members both on site and remote.
- Ideally used to working in an Agile, CI and CD development environment.
- A right first-time approach to quality when delivering code.
