W.S.Wright is seeking an Assistant Estimator / Building Surveyor to join their South East Office based in the Rye area of East Sussex.

The successful Assistant Estimator / Building Surveyorwill have the invaluable opportunity to work alongside and assist the South East Office and Contracts Department as they carry out a traditional and modern Building Surveyor role.

This is an exceptional position for an intelligent candidate, graduate or someone with building experience looking for an office based position in a QS department looking to develop into a good Quantity Surveyor whilst you work alongside an versatile and exceptional team.

The Role
WSW are in search for a Assistant Estimator / Building Surveyor to work across a number of projects within their South East Office.

The Role

As an Assistant Estimator / Building Surveyor you will assist in the delivery and successful management of a number of High End Retail and Residential properties of varying sizes across the UK. You will assist with managing client relationships, arranging appointments and will be required to manage your work to meet deadlines under your own initiative.

Overview of Tasks

•Provide assistant to the team leader to the integrated contract and supply teams responsible for key objectives on the reactive and refurbishment program for specialist and non-trading properties within the client data base
•Hands on approach to support and develop the company's sub-contract supply chain compliance and policies framework
•Assist in the completion of site visits and liaise with client building managers and suppliers and engineers to provide detailed estimates and quotation for requested work, including plant, materials and labour breakdowns
•Assist in the financial analysis among each discipline and with information that allow departments to make the right decision for the organisation.
•Assist and establish and maintain operating processes for the tasks delegated by the Line Manager.
•Provide assistant to the line manager for stock management and logistics for material and Control for Specialist Contracts and Non-Trading Properties
Assist with the analysis of supplier data and market information in order to support team leaders with business decisions
•Assist and monitor audits of the supplier as part of the Logistics and Material Control
•Assist with the support of the strategic Supplier Compliance Framework and coordinate input of data into the Procurement Management Data Control
•To help of produce reporting metrics on the supplier
•Assist with the coordination with operations and with the program management of teams to ensure that the supplier and material flow meets the operations and program schedule
•Hands on approach to managing the supplier and the contract amendments to the purchase order
•Work with suppliers to develop cost down initiatives through process improvements
•Assist with the accurate records of costs and verify costs against service level agreement and budget to support client contract rates and reviews

Key Skills

* Strong skills and proven experience
* Full Clean driving licence
* Covering the whole of the South of UK - ideally they will be based in the South East area
* Excellent communication skills at all levels
* Building and construction experience being able to communicate with builders, site managers, architects, etc.
* Able to stay away overnight if necessary
* Ideally but not essential RICS or CIOB accredited
* Educated to degree level or equivalent would be advantageous but not essential
