Bath and North East Somerset or Bristol
£18,000 per annum + £900 Essential Car User Allowance
 
Flexible, up to 37 hours per week
 
Our client is ranked in the top 50 in The Sunday Times Top 100 Best Not-for-Profit Organisations to work for in the whole of the UK and they are looking for a new colleague to join their passionate and committed Independent Living Service team.
 
Their team of Independent Living Service Officers regularly visit customers and offer them a personalised service with both practical and social support.
 
Their services include:
 
-A regular social visit
-Helping complete forms and applications
-Practical advice on arranging mobility equipment
-Understanding and accessing benefits
-Advice on staying healthy and active
-Regular telephone catch up calls and medication reminders
-Helping customers visit their GP or hospital appointments
 
Our client is looking for a ‘people person’ who is cheerful, organised, and motivated to engage with older people to deliver the individual support that they need to live as independently as possible.
 
As well as supporting customer wellbeing and completing support plans for customers, you’ll liaise with external agencies in order to make sure that customers get the support they need. You will promote social and leisure activities within the service and deal with the occasional emergency.
 
The successful candidate will need to have a friendly, non-judgmental approach and be happy working alone and as part of a supportive team. In regular team meetings you will be encouraged to share ideas around ways of developing the service.  You will also need good IT skills and be accurate in the recording of your work completed.
 
A valid driving license and the ability to travel around Bath and the surrounding areas is also important.
