Permanent, Part Time (3 days per week)

Our client is an independent training provider that has been helping young people move forward with their lives for over 30 years.

They are looking for an enthusiastic Tutor to join their team at their Leicester centre.

Delivering engaging, effective and innovative training sessions to groups of students, you will compile and assess BTEC Employability qualifications, deliver English and/or Maths qualifications (either Functional Skills or GCSE’s) and contribute towards ensuring excellent student attendance and retention.

Engaging external speakers (employers, business people, celebrities, progression/support agencies) in order to enhance the learning experience, you will plan and deliver enterprise projects and conduct initial assessment effectively in order to set students appropriate, but challenging, targets and goals.

To be successful in this exciting role, you should be capable of delivering effective training sessions to groups and of building rapport with the target group and retaining their attention during these sessions. With a Level 2 qualification in English and Maths (or currently working towards this), you must be able to persuade and influence others and deal with conflict / challenging behaviour by remaining positive and engaging.

If successful in post, you will be required to gain a Level 3 Teaching qualification and a Level 3 qualification in English or/and Maths within six months of your appointment if you do not already hold these.

Essentially, they are looking for innovative and solution focused individuals who are highly motivated, committed and work well under pressure and to targets.

The welfare of their students is paramount therefore the successful candidate will be subject to a DBS check.
