LOCATION: Preston
JOB TITLE: Temporary Sub Editor / Page Designer
SALARY & BENEFITS: Competitive, depending on experience
WORKING HOURS: Four days a week - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 9am-5pm (one hour for lunch) flexibility required on Tuesday evenings
Temporary contract for a 12-month period

THE COMPANY: Our client is a leading media and information business covering the global agribusiness sector. Their brands deliver premium news, analysis, data, pricing, insight and market intelligence. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Temporary Sub Editor / Page Designer to join their team in Preston.

THE ROLE: The successful applicant will be subbing copy for the news and features sections, writing headlines and coming up with ideas for news and features layouts

Key responsibilities for the Temporary Sub Editor / Page Designer role is to include:-
• Checking and editing content for the magazine according to house style
• Creating pages in InDesign across all sections. This includes working closely with the rest of the production team to design innovative pages, write imaginative headlines and captions, working across news and features pages
• Manage your time effectively to ensure deadlines are met

THE CANDIDATE: The successful applicant for the Temporary Sub Editor / Page Designer will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will have good organisational skills and remain calm and efficient under pressure. You will need excellent attention to detail and a creative eye for designing and refining content. You will need to live within a commutable distance to Preston.

Key skills and experience for the Temporary Sub Editor / Page Designer role:-

• Be able to spot inaccuracies in copy even when up against tight deadlines
• Experience of using InDesign and Photoshop is essential
• Content editing experience
• Page layout/design for print
• Knowledge of agriculture would be an advantage
