Our client has six colleges, two training providers and around 2,500 staff spread across 61 locations, which also makes them one of the largest not for profit training groups in the UK.

They work with thousands of learners, employers and apprentices each year, collaborating with businesses across the UK to help underpin their journey to success and future growth.

Their two training providers are now looking for a Regional Director to lead and manage all regional operational delivery, with accountability for profit and loss, local business development (growth) and ensure quality of delivery.

This is a key operational role in which the post holder will have full accountability for ensuring the operational delivery within their region for all programmes, funded by a variety of different funding streams including: EFA, ESFA, ESF, DWP and Big Lottery. There will be significant external focus, with responsibility for building and maintaining external relationships with funding bodies, awarding bodies and sectors. There will also be the need to build key partnerships with external stakeholders including employers, referral agencies, colleges and other providers.

Fully accountable for leading the development, implementation and delivery of the financial budgets for the region and for leading the continual development and delivery of relevant programmes, you will lead the regions commitment to employee engagement; creating an environment which enables colleagues to fully engage and maximise their contribution to the directorate’s success. Acting as an ambassador for our client, you will lead the identification and progression of business growth, identifying, developing and delivering opportunities to grow both organically and through new business opportunities.

Experience of effective partnerships working with internal and external stakeholders and of leading delivery of apprenticeships or other work-based qualifications in an education or training-related environment, you will have FE / HE / Skills / Employability knowledge and excellent communication skills. Detailed understanding of the learning, skills and employability sector, along with knowledge of the external environment, including national and regional strategies and priorities, funding streams and the national political agenda, you will have experience of managing a multi-site, multi-service business and of undertaking a senior operational role within a public/private sector.

A Degree (or equivalent relevant experience) and a recognised Management qualification is highly desirable however not essential.
