We are in partnership with a global design and build consortium of contractors responsible for the construction of 5 shafts being sunk to a depth of 1350 meters below ground, the package is valued at GBP900m and has never been attempted before in the UK. A unique once in a lifetime project due to be delivered and fully operational by 2022.
We are keen to speak to general foreman with experience of Tunnelling and below ground construction
Responsibilities
• Responsible for all aspects of site operations and the performance of site team ;
• Continuously monitor trades and sub-contractors under their control to ensure all safety re-quirements are met and the site cleanliness is maintained;
• Ensure labour resources on site matches programmed/planned labour requirements;
• Monitor and record progress of the works and assist in/or prepare short programmes for ac-tivities under the direct control of the Trades Foreman;
• Ensure all H&S procedures are complied with by all individuals on site;
• Take responsibility for ensuring safe use and correct utilisation of any items used by site op-eratives and sub-contractors. ;
• Where controlling work in relation to excavations etc. monitor planking and strutting or other support systems for safe working before allowing anyone to enter any excavation and during the progress of work;
• To be aware of business continuity processes via Line Manager.

Knowledge skills & experience
• CIOB Site Management Certificate; Diploma.(desirable)
• Major Infrastructure project experience / Mine Construction desirable
• Excellent civil engineering knowledge (essential)
