Electrical Technician (NHS)
Duties will include routine breakdown/ repair, planned maintenance and installation/ commissioning works on all the Trusts' electrical equipment and systems. This work is carried out at all Trust properties and SLA sites.
The Estate Maintenance Department operate an approved and documented safe system of working for all electrical work undertaken on Trust premises. The system meets the requirements of both the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 and HTM 2020 Low Voltage Safety Code. In accordance with the Regulations, the post holder will hold full Authorised Person status.
The post holder must be capable of organising their workload, on occasion, on your own initiative, with full consideration for patient and staff requirements within a sensitive and caring healthcare environment.
Work will be obtained from Team Leaders, events and situations that occur, emergency on call engineer, designers and senior managers The post holder will come into regular contact with patients both in hospital and their own homes.
The post holder will be required to work irregular hours on occasion to satisfactorily fulfil the requirements of the post. All such additional hours worked will be payable at the applicable rate.
At times required by management, the post holder will also be required to partake in the departments rostered emergency on-call service.
Essential criteria
City & Guilds 236 A, or NVQ III
And City and Guilds part C plus bridging course or ONC in an electrical related subject
AND/ OR
NVQ 111 - Installing and Commissioning Electrical Systems and Equipment
City & Guilds certificate
BS 7671: 1992

This is a full time role (37.5 hours per week). As part of the electrical on call rota, the successful applicant will be required to be on call 1 week in 4.
