An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Trading Manager to join a hugely successful market leader in environmental solution based at their Lincoln facility.

The successful candidate will be an exceptional trader and hands-on with business development opportunities. They will work alongside the finance, operations and sales teams advising on all trading matters and guiding the best path of growth for the business.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for all aspects of the clients trading function. Where necessary, support and collaboration may be required with other group companies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership to the company's trading strategy, to optimise the financial performance and strategic position.
  • Ensure that company trading, and procurement systems are robust, compliant and support current activities and future growth.
  • Lead and develop trading activities.
  • Take ultimate responsibility for ensuring sufficient raw materials are available for production and sales demand at all times.
  • Ensure profit levels meet business/market requirements liaising with Sales
  • Actively manage supply/demand balances and position throughout the year.
  • Responsibility for all raw material transactions
  • Evaluate market conditions in order to control stock levels and storage locations whilst controlling costs.
  • Manage ongoing relationships with suppliers
  • Coordinate with operations and logistics departments to transport product when/where needed.
  • Evaluate and recommend vendors.
  • Coordinate and manage shipping requirements
  • Calculate costings of raw materials both for margins and quotations
  • Currency management in collaboration with the finance department
  • Ensure that all trading regulatory requirements are met
  • Arrange importation and customs clearance of raw materials
  • Manage all trading positions and exposure
  • Risk management
  • Forecast stock requirements based upon historical data/market conditions
  • Establish a high level of credibility and manage strong working relationships with external stakeholders
  • Analyse and manage business development opportunities
  • Responsibility for managing the industrial and environmental product groups within the client's portfolio offering

The Candidate:

  • Strong finance and analytical skills
  • Meet the requirement for a commercially astute, dynamic and influential leader with the ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels
  • Raw materials trading experience
  • Exceptional communication skills at all levels
  • Strong IT skills, always being ahead of new technologies
  • Ability to handle high levels of pressure and critical decision-making
  • High integrity and openness combined with commitment to good governance
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Contract management experience
  • Energetic and highly motivated in pursuit of business growth and success
  • UK and international travel will be necessary so flexibility is a must
  • Full, clean driver's license

Hours: 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday (flexibility is a must)

Salary: £50,000- £60,000 (+ Other Benefits)
