Position: QA Depot Technician
Location: Swindon,
Salary: £25,000 per annum
Job type: Permanent, Full time or Part time
To ensure that Client own label products are assessed and action taken to ensure that they are of the Food safety & quality expected by both our customers and the company.
To provide technical advice and support to RDC & Stores and wider Client buying teams
Key Accountabilities
Ensure that product quality issues raised either internally or externally are investigated and a swift and accurate assessment and solution are provided that does not compromise food safety or quality, but also minimises that loss of stock to the business.
Inspection of products against Customer Complaints and Top Ten listings to focus product inspection against high complaints and any trends of concern. Communication of the issue to the supplier and ensuring that appropriate corrective and preventive action has been taken by the supplier as outlined in the response.
Inspection of stock from trailer, backhaul and store breakdowns. Ensuring inspection is at a level that provides full and detailed profile of the stock involved.
Monitor depot standards and communicate any issues to Quality Manager.
Ensure that all reports, rejections, non-conformances & breakdown are detailed, accurate and minimise stock loss without compromise to safety or quality.
Ensure export product is
Perform audits on DHL on a monthly basis
Perform assessment at store approximately monthly
Technical Skills
Computer literate, use of retailer databases, presentation skills.
Qualifications/Knowledge/Experience
Relevant Experience within the food industry,
Food Hygiene Qualification (Intermediate Level),
Manufacturing, Store and/or Distribution experience.
Knowledge of Client Retail,
Food safety qualifications, including HACCP.
Temperature legislation/equipment/monitoring systems.
Pest Control awareness.
Decision making ability and excellent communication skills, verbally and written.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Non-negotiable:
Previous quality assurance experience,
Retail/FMCG background
Extra pointers:
General merchandise experience would also be okay.
AVOID candidates from industrial backgrounds though
Candidates should have a driver's licence as the site isn't easily reachable otherwise.
Candidates need to have NO KNOWN ALLERGIES as they will be expected to taste-test some of the produce.
