Job Title: Refugee Integration Support Officer - Arabic Speaking

Location: Cheltenham with frequent travel abroad

Perm/Contract: 10 Month FTC

Salary: GBP20,000 - GBP22,000

Job Specification

Would you like to:

* Contribute positively to the lives of Syrian refugees by aiding their economic integration in Jordan?
* Work for a dynamic, progressive organisation by delivering a UK government funded project?
* Build and maintain a network of Jordanian and UK contacts to maximise the efficiency of the service?

All applicants must have permission to live and work in the UK and have no restrictions in their ability to travel to and from Amman Jordan on a monthly basis.

Duties:

* Meet with employers, professional and regulatory bodies, universities, vocational education providers and other sector bodies to explain the value of our clients work and ensure their acceptability
* Engage with charities, organisations and other funded projects as well as directly in refugee camp community centres
* Promote the service through a variety of media channels including social media, print media and radio air time
* Manage relationships with in-country logistical partners for the efficient production and distribution of information
* Organise and conduct seminars and events on skills shortage areas, employment induction programmes and the Syrian education system
* Produce clear reports for senior management, which will in turn feed in to reports provided to the UK government
* Assist with the production of internal and external publications such as newsletters, e.g. through interviews, photos, news stories
* Respond to queries about the project received through dedicated communications channels
* Set up and process applications for the service
* Distribute flyers and other information documents to relevant stakeholders
* Monitor the effectiveness of processes and provide feedback on potential improvements
* Be flexible and able to respond to new challenges and developments relating to the project

Skills/Experience

Essential:

* A UK degree holder
* Fluent in Arabic and English
* Able to travel frequently to Jordan
* Able to manage multiple relationships
* Confident at public speaking and organisation of events
* Inquisitive, tenacious, positive and highly motivated

Desirable:

Experience of working with refugees
