An excellent opportunity has arisen for a number of Facilities Assistants to join our team based in Cambridge (University of Cambridge) where we have a number of full time positions available.

Within this role, you will be responsible for the undertaking of duties relating to the clean and safe operation of the buildings, surrounding grounds, lets, carparks and site security contained within the Eddington community.

Reporting to the Facilities Manager, you will clean site facilities that are under your control in accordance with the cleaning specification; to include but not limited to cleaning of site communal areas, student accommodation, grounds, public walkways and roads. You will also assist in the provision of a courteous and efficient car parking service; tasks to include patrolling designated car parking areas and checking cars have valid tickets, recording details of cars not displaying tickets and issuing penalty notices if necessary, ensuring vehicles are parked safely and that pedestrian routes are clear.

In addition, you will also carry out mobile foot patrols on site to act as a deterrent for criminal activity and to participate in the response to any incidents reported.

In order to be successful in this role, it is essential that you have previous experience in a similar role coupled with experience of dealing with the general public.

With a ‘can do’ attitude, you should be honest, reliable and trustworthy and will be able to cope and act positively when faced with challenges. Good written and verbal communication skills and command of the English language is also important and, due to the nature of the role, you should have a flexible approach to hours and tasks.

Contractual Hours are Rota'd 5 days out of 7 Monday to Sunday - Shift pattern 08:30-17:30/10:00-19:00
