Business Development Manager in Military Space
Location: Bristol

About SCISYS:
SCISYS delivers a wide range of software services, solutions and consultancy to our institutional and commercial clients around the world. Developing robust, real-world software is our core business, as well as providing support services that create a real benefit to our customers. Our solutions are frequently at the heart of our client's operations and therefore critical to their business. Delivering these solutions requires a partnership approach and mutual trust, which we pride ourselves on and promote amongst our workforce.

As part of its growth strategy the SCISYS Space Division has successfully secured contracts in both the upstream and downstream markets, notably a recent significant ground segment contract for a military customer. Within the UK, European and US defence market there are new opportunities SCISYS wishes to pursue that will support our ambitious growth strategy. It is therefore an excellent opportunity for a business development manager to develop sales opportunities in the military space domain and grow a significant business for SCISYS in the coming years.

SCISYS is therefore looking to recruit a business development manager to grow a client base in military space in areas such as satellite communications, space situational awareness, GEOINT, satellite operations and global positioning and timing systems.

The Role
The role will include all aspects of the sales lifecycle, including:
* Input to the business development strategy to help achieve the Space Division's objectives
* Perform market surveys and competitor analysis to aid the positioning of the SCISYS offering
* Develop and execute a marketing plan to raise client awareness of our capabilities and services
* Seek, develop and close sales opportunities in line with the budget and agreed strategy
* Representing SCISYS credibly and professionally at conferences and exhibitions
* Identify and build relationships with key customer contacts and potential partners
* Understand the clients' needs and contribute to the shaping of the services to meet the market's demand
* Fostering and managing a sales pipeline that delivers sustainable and profitable business
* Working collaboratively with our technical teams to identify winning propositions that will meet clients' needs
* Contribute to and help shape proposals in all aspects to ensure a high standard is submitted.
* Providing a smooth handover from successful sales, negotiation and contract signature to the Operations Manager who is then responsible for the project delivery.
* Assisting in the preparation of business and sales forecasts, as well as reporting of all sales transactions
* Delivering agreed sales targets.

Requirements:
This is a superb opportunity for an individual to join a dynamic and supportive business, as well as someone who relishes a lot of variety. The successful candidate will demonstrate the following:
* Entrepreneurial flair and being able to spot opportunities quickly.
* Commercial awareness and identifying potential risk areas.
* Quick learner; able to learn the key concepts behind technologies.
* Self-starter with initiative and a strong motivation to succeed.
* Good personal organisation and focus.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, producing and delivering appropriate well-structured presentations and proposals.
* Strong capability to build relationships and able to communicate with all levels.
* Be a team player contributing to a collaborative environment.
* Willingness to travel regularly and frequently to customer sites.
* Professional and positive approach.
* Commitment to achieving targets.
* Graduate with a university degree in a relevant subject area or equivalent professional experience.
