Salary: £20-£22k

Requirements of Depot Supervisor
The role requires someone with previous experience working in a reactive Cleaning & Waste collection environment with significant energy and excellent interpersonal skills to lead and manage the depot. This includes being responsible for the day to day management of the depot, working to ensure that the operation achieve the targeted operational and financial performance whilst ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and the company policies.

Responsibility of Depot Supervisor
- Customer focus
- Responsible for day to day decisions
- Keeping check on all incoming and outgoing vehicles
- Duties will also include handling telephone calls from customers and responding to them professionally
- Liaison with other depots and Head office on a daily basis and following rules and procedures
- Managing Operative probationary, appraisals, spot checks, training and development, weekly time sheets for payroll
- To manage efficiency & productivity in operation by efficient route planning
- Ensure the avoidance of contract losses & grows customer base
- Ensures that all staff maintain a high level of customer care (to contractual requirement) by monitoring service levels and ensuring that corrective action is taken as appropriate
- Ensure legislator compliance at all times by all staff
- Leading and developing the depot team, ensuring they understand and adhere to policies and procedures at all times
- Ensuring appropriate cover in place for peak periods, holidays etc.

- Deals with disciplinary matters, including dismissals, and appeals and grievances in line with Company policy
- Sets and agrees clear objectives with subordinates, regularly monitoring their performance and taking action to correct shortfalls

Expertise:

- Optimises resources and continuously reviews the operations to improve profitability and customer service, managing change where necessary
- Drives a lean culture throughout
- Manages the operations for current and future demands

Knowledge, Skills & Experience of Depot Supervisor
Preferable:
- Experienced in people management
- Experience of managing in a labour intensive, multi-shift environment is essential
- Capable of leading a team in a time of change
- Lean Management Understanding
- Proven experience in customer service
- IOSH, IPAF, CSCS qualified
- The ability to challenge the norm and achieve sustainable change
- Driving Licenses
