Our client is a large, and growing, specialist land-based College, with centres throughout Yorkshire, Cumbria and the Tees Valley.

The College is seeking a Senior Management Accountant to join their dynamic Finance team. Reporting to the Financial Controller, the role will involve producing accurate and timely monthly management accounts to a high standard, the development of costing information to enable commercial decision making and providing meaningful KPIs to the Senior Leadership Team.

This role will also manage, motivate and lead the Management Accounts team within the finance department. The role offers excellent growth opportunities and development within a well-established organisation.

The primary responsibilities of the post are:-

• Effective management and supervision of the Management Accountant and Assistant Accountant;
• Producing the monthly management accounts and other reports as required for senior management including the review of income and costs against budget;
• Alongside the Financial Controller leading the preparation of budgets and forecasts;
• Responsible for statutory reporting and compliance including year-end preparation and liaison with the auditors;

You will be a fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA or equivalent) who is technically strong with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a management accounts role. You will be able to demonstrate excellent IT skills, strong numerical and analytical skills and the ability to think in a commercial manner. It is essential that you are able to build productive working relationships. Experience of Open Accounts and line management experience would be an advantage.
