Job Description

SAS Software Limited is looking for a Base SAS or SAS DI developer with extensive Platform experience to join their Professional Services’ ESP/Big Data Team as a Senior Technical Consultant. 

The postholder will lead solution designs, implementations and project closeout at customer sites whilst ensuring the highest levels of client satisfaction. The role involves utilizing the entire SAS portfolio of business analytics software alongside the Hadoop ecosystem to ensure customers adopt the most effective business analytics capabilities in the rapidly emerging world of Hadoop. The main duties and responsibilities of the role are otherwise as follows:

• provide SAS Data Management consulting skills including; providing guidance, reviewing and quality assurance both internally within SAS and externally to our customers;
• maintain the highest standards of expert domain and technology standards at all times;
• prepare detailed technical and solution design documentation;
• work effectively with SAS architecture, installation and other teams to ensure successful project designs and implementation;
• develop best practices, share knowledge internally and educating peers and customers;
• build trusted relationships with pre-sales and sales teams and client accounts;
• prepare and present materials both internally and externally; and
• maintain the highest level of customer satisfaction at all times.

Skills and experience:

The candidate must have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a quantitative field;
• extensive relevant certifications such as; SAS Advanced Programmer for SAS 9, SAS Certified Base Programmer, SAS Certified Data Quality Steward, SAS Data Integration Developer for SAS 9 and/or SAS Certified Platform Administrator;
• ability to work effectively as part of a delivery team and as an individual contributor;
• ability to communicate with people of various technical and business backgrounds including the ability to explain difficult technical concepts in simple terms to business users;
• excellent problem solving, organizational and written skills;
• excellent knowledge of relational databases;
• be a data management specialist;
• be fluent in written and spoken English; and
• open to overseas travel and opportunity.

The candidate should preferably have a demonstrable passion for technology, experience of SAS technologies and the SAS business analytics architecture. be fluent in object orientated programming languages such as Java or C++, have previous experience of Hadoop technologies and have additional European languages.
