Company Profile:
My client are a UK based solutions provider and systems integrator providing products and support services internationally for land, air and maritime based applications.

The Purpose of the Role:

Reporting to the Business Stream Lead, the Project Manager is responsible for allocated project delivery, ensuring that assigned projects are completed on time, to budget and to the expected quality requirements.
The Project Manager will also be responsible for providing support in establishing best practice, providing suggestions of improvements to the current processes, practices and methods, and looking for potential opportunities for improvements.

Responsibilities/Duties:

•To assume total responsibility for the management and delivery of assigned projects with full accountability for project performance.
•To have total and complete understanding of project and contractual requirements.
•To lead and co-ordinate bids from concept to contract award, working through the direction of business development.
•Define, communicate, execute & monitor the project and prioritise specific to individual contracts and projects, recording key milestones and budgets for each stage of work package.
•Develop, execute and maintain project plans and statements of work (SOW's), detailing task descriptions, deliverables, project schedules through liaising with specialist areas across a matrix organisation.
•Develop and lead project teams; providing leadership, direction and control, through effective work package management.
•Provide support, mentoring and coaching as required to ensure success delivery of assigned projects.
•Undertake Risk, issues and opportunity management, ensuring logs are established and maintained through the life of the assigned project.
•Effective Stakeholder Management.
•Build strong customer relationship. Providing updates on project schedules at regular inrtervals.
•Identify and pursue follow-on business opportunities.
•Manage, report status and performance of the assigned project in line with company management reporting cycle.
•Where appropriate, undertake development and training of own project staff.
•To comply with the Company Policy on Health & Safety.

Supervisory Responsibility:

•Responsible for assigned teams.
•Able to lead and motivate a team of between 6-12 people (approx.).
•Working within a project matrix structure.

Tools, Software and Equipment:

•MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). SharePoint, MS Project Pro, MS enterprise Server, CostPoint, Cognos, Epicor, IFS.

Working Conditions:

•Office based, will be expected to travel on business within the UK and overseas, depending on project demands
