Ecolab has an opportunity for a Retail Account Manager to join our team covering the UK. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis and will receive a competitive salary plus benefits.

About the role:

This position is part of the FRS Europe organisation. You will need to coordinate your activities with those of the Corporate Account Manager & Area Manager as well as Marketing & R&D.

Given the nature of the responsibilities, travel inside the European region is required (ca. 10%) with possible travel to the US if there is a need in that. You will report to the Area Manager UKIE.

As the Retail Account Manager, you will have responsibility for increasing sales and the acquisition of new sales while protecting existing assigned accounts. You will maintain the awareness of competitive, customer and industry solutions as well as being accountable for informing key business leaders for significant matters related to the accounts and sets the strategy for short and long term account plans and activities.

Main responsibilities of the Retail Account Manager:

- Taking over assigned accounts business and growing it double digit

- Development and stability for assigned accounts as measured specifically by profitable sales maintenance and growth

- Design and communication of strategic customer growth and partnership plans for assigned accounts ensuring consistent collaboration and communication with assigned accounts

- Insulate the customer relationship from competitive threats by selling new innovation

- Understand what customers want accomplish and how Ecolab can help with innovative ideas and solutions

- Communicate customer business and operational needs to your Ecolab partners

- Guiding cross functional teams to execute world-class delivery of responses to bids and proposals to retain and grow Ecolab Food Retail business

- Regular calls on assigned international accounts to develop and build rapport with all levels of the associates including headquarters, regional offices, franchisees, etc.

- Work with Corporate Account & Retail Account Managers as well as the field teams to assist in their understanding and training of accounts, testing at the new and existing accounts & acquisition activities

- Regular reporting of the results

- Attendance of the key internal meetings in person or via the teleconference for the purpose of updating and communicating progress made towards goals with assigned accounts

- Conduct periodic Executive Business Reviews to highlight what Ecolab has done, what we are going to do and the value that it brings their business

- Use data as the basis for value conversations – demonstrate how using Ecolab products and services will translate to customers P&L

- Look at every customer through the lens of Enterprise Selling and how you can achieve synergy growth with other Ecolab divisions

- Build your relationships with the field by listening, providing ongoing coaching and development, and being willing to go the extra mile with them

- Give field staff tools and information that will make their jobs easier

Skills, knowledge and experience required by our Retail Account Manager:

- Bachelor degree as a minimum. Food technology or food safety background preferred

- Ability to effectively work with multifunctional teams (e.g. sales, marketing, FSM), countries, regionally & globally based

- Interpersonal skills to communicate with all stakeholders in the various countries with their own business cultures and needs

- Excellent level of English

- Analytical skills, good with figures and sales reporting

- More than 3 years of experience in international B2B or B2C business. Food Safety education or experience. Chemical industry segment is a benefit

- Experience with Retail Chains in UK or internationally

- Open minded team player and independent

- IT skills: excellent knowledge MS office / Business Writing

- Pro-active communication and hands-on mentality

- Basic technical understanding

- Willingness to travel in Europe (ca. 10%) and based in the UK
