We are recruiting for an enthusiastic and committed Deputy Manager to lead and motivate one of our three houses in our Bromley supported living service to provide meaningful support that will make a real difference to the people in our care. This services is the full time residents of our customers and we are looking for someone who can help ensure a safe, well managed and enjoyable environment for all to enjoy and be part of.

Our service includes 3 houses with 3 to 4 customers in each. The deputy manager will be placed within one of these homes and will take a lead in organising support plans, appointments, training and supervision of staff and ensuring a safe working environment for all. Their needs are varying and include learning disability and complex medical needs. Experience with learning disability is essential. Experience with complex medical needs is ideal although not essential as training will be provided.

About the Role

* You will lead your team to develop support plans and risk assessments that reflect people's needs, preferences and aspirations; creating a culture where plans are actively implemented and reviewed so that people are supported in the way that they want.
* You will deliver a service that meets and aims to exceed the expectations of the people we support, their funders, the local authority and relevant standards of care.

About you

You will share our values and passion to engage, enable and empower vulnerable adults to lead the lives they want. Using your experience of working in a similar setting you will have developed the skills you need to engage and motivate service teams to provide creative and flexible services that make a positive difference to people's lives.

As the Deputy Manager you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of a high quality support service for adults with a range of needs, through making sure the service adheres to all the relevant legislative and performance standards, contract compliance. You will be an excellent communicator liaising effectively with key stakeholders including statutory multi-disciplinary and health professionals, family carers and customers. You will be able to easily interpret and apply policy into practice, including principles and practices of safeguarding adults at risk, budget management, health and safety, mental capacity act and upholding the rights of customers to be involved at all levels of decision making as well as achieving good outcomes for customers.

You will be required to work some evenings, weekends and bank holidays. You may also be asked to do an occasional sleep-in and will provide regular out of hours on-call support for which additional payment will be made. You may be required to complete some frontline support shifts as part of the role.

Qualification/Skills

* NVQ Level 3 in Social Care or equivalent
* Experience of leadership within a team
* Good organisational skill
* Experience of planning activities in house and out of service
* Problem solving skills
* Experience working towards and documenting care standards
* Driving is preferable
