Test Technician
We are currently recruiting for an experienced testing technician responsible for performing inspection, diagnosis, repair and testing of electrical, electronic
and/or mechanical assemblies.
Our client is one of the world's leading suppliers of hot runner technology and systems. They design, manufacture, and support a full range of hot runner products, including hot runner systems, temperature controllers, hot halves, and gating technologies.
In this role, the Test Technician will provide assistance and/or
support to other Test Technicians or other production personnel when necessary.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The duties of the Test Technician include, but are not limited to:
Carrying out the assigned work as efficiently as possible;
Ensure the work is of a very high quality and is completed in line with the planned completion time;
Communicate any blocking issues in a timely fashion;
Ensure that completed orders are booked and transferred to the next operation in a timely fashion;
Notify their line manager when run times are incorrect or product will not meet the planned completion time;
Report documentation discrepancies to the appropriate department;
Carry out service support work when required;
Provide guidance and/or training for trainees/apprentices when required;
Make recommendations for productivity and/or method improvements;
Ensure manufacturing guidelines and procedures are followed;
Actively participate in continuous improvement activities;
Correct and report to appropriate personnel any errors or faults detected during testing
General Duties and Responsibilities
In this role the Test Technician will, when required, inspect, diagnose, repair and test assemblies sub-assemblies and final system configuration using equipment and hand tools. In addition tohelping others when needed, the Test Technicians must be capable of assisting others to meet customer delivery times.
The Test Technician will perform various test and inspection activities on sub-assemblies and finished product, apply correct labeling, document results, etc., taking responsibility for final test of product and sub-assemblies.
It should be noted that the next person, after the Test Technician, to use the system will be the customer. It is therefore very important that the duties of this role are carried out very responsibly.
The Test Technician is responsible for the safe set up and operation of their equipment/tools.
The Test Technician works with general/minimal supervision of assigned tasks and must becapable of working in a team.
The Test Technician will carry out any other reasonable tasks, requested by the management team.
Qualifications
To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty
satisfactorily and accept responsibility for the accuracy and quality of their work.
The incumbent must be capable of reading and interpreting documents such as the safety policy and procedures, production documentation (e.g. job files, etc), operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Education and Experience
The Test Technician needs knowledge of electrical/electronic principles, techniques and tools in
order to perform their duties. Specialist training will be given where required
Work Environment
In this role, the Test Technician must set up appropriate process equipment, follow appropriate
documentation and adjust machinery and equipment as required.
Personal Protective Equipment (i.e. safety glasses, steel toecap shoes, etc) may be required to perform
some activities. This equipment will be supplied by the company and MUST be worn when performing
those duties.
The Test Technician must, upon discovery of a serious or life threatening fault, immediately notify his/her
manager
and/or mechanical assemblies.
