Telehouse has an opportunity for a Database Architect to join the team in London Docklands. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis and will receive a competitive salary of £35,000-40,000 per annum plus excellent benefits including travel allowance, bonus scheme, generous pension scheme, optional health insurance and more.

As our Database Architect you will be responsible for providing database administration, development and enhancements. You will focus on delivering business driven change across the application portfolio, assisting projects at both design and implementation phases.

You will also monitor the effectiveness of Telehouse controlled database / systems and make improvements where necessary following the agreed project governance / change control procedure. Develop SSIS package to automate manually driven process.

Key duties of our Database Architect will include

- Management and administering all Company’s databases
- SSIS package development for process automation and cross system data transfer
- Responsible for setting up and development of SQL reporting services
- Maintenance of Database dictionaries and enhancing existing documentation
- Work closely with infrastructure personnel, providing technical input to application design of solutions for business and infrastructure projects
- Assist in the evaluation, planning and delivery of the migration and upgrade of existing database applications.
- Assist with database sizing and capacity planning
- Establish and manage data interfaces in order to support required business process performance liaising with process owners, solution architects and relevant stakeholders
- Identify database and system performance improvement by understanding business objectives, best practices and facilitate appropriate discussions with relevant departments so that business objectives are met.
- Improve database backup and disaster recovery processes

What we’re looking for in our Database Architect

- At least 3 years’ experience in MS SQL Server 2008 and above
- Proven experience in Microsoft IDE and Microsoft Visual Studio 
- Proven experience in writing quality stored procedures in MS SQL Server
- Experience as Database Administrator working in a corporate environment
- Strong design, implementation and administration knowledge of MSSQL Server
- Strong administration, design and implementation knowledge and experience of SSIS, SSAS and SSRS, Visual Studio
- Strong troubleshooting, performance tuning,
- Very strong T-SQL knowledge
- Experience of working in large environments supporting applications through various stages of the product development life cycle
