Salary: £22,000-25,000 Dependant on experience

An exciting new opportunity has arisen within Kerfoot for an experienced Logistics Planner to join our Logistics Division, reporting directly to the Logistics Manager. 

DESCRIPTION

The Logistics planner will be responsible for the routing, planning and scheduling of all customer deliveries and collections for the Kerfoot Packed and Volume divisions. They will use the available resource of 12 LGV’s and drivers along with 3rd party hauliers to ensure the efficient delivery of our oil throughout the UK and Ireland. The Logistics planner will work closely with the Commercial and Production divisions in order to optimise the daily, weekly and monthly delivery plans.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Production of daily and weekly delivery schedules for all available company vehicles and drivers
• Optimise routes to maximise efficient and drive down costs
• Providing solutions and contingency plans for encountered or expected delivery issues
• Work closely with the driving team to maximise productivity and maintain good morale
• Communicate with sales and production to ensure plans are achievable
• Ensure work schedules adhere to WTD and EU Drivers hours rules
• Plan routine vehicle maintenance and minimise vehicle, trailer downtime

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED

• Experience in planning and coordinating multi-drop deliveries
• Excellent communication skills 
• KPI driven with a proven track record of optimisation
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Experience with continuous improvement
• A strong understanding of operator licence requirements (scheduled vehicle maintenance, tachograph compliance etc)
• Experience with Paragon or other similar routing and scheduling software package
• A good working knowledge of other transport and logistics systems e.g. Tachomaster, Fleetboard (vehicle tracking), in cab technology (forward facing cameras, cab-phones / communication devices etc)
• Good computer skills including Microsoft office
• Experience in conflict resolution
• Ability to maintain control in a busy, fast paced working environment
• Good at prioritising and able to delegate when required
• Professional appearance, represents the business well at all times
