Aviation Detailer/Cleaner

The Full Wax has been in this niche industry of Private Aviation Detailing for nearly 20 years now and is looking for someone to join the Team.

You will be working on the Exterior and Interior of aircraft ranging from Lear Jets to Air Bus.  You will be extensively trained in all areas ranging from Steam Cleaning Carpets, Hand Waxing Exterior Paintwork through to Machine Buffing the Leading Edge of a Wing.

We are primarily based out of Farnborough Airport , but also operate out of various other private sector airports such as Luton, Biggin Hill and Stansted amongst others to which you will be expected to commute.

For this reason you must have your own transport (a motorcar) to commute to Farnborough, company vehicle may be available dependent on individual circumstances.

You may also on occasion be required to stay overnight at a location for which subsistence and accommodation will be provided; also overseas visits are not out of the question.

Although we normally operate Monday to Friday, weekend working is needed when jobs come as a contractual requirement. Overtime is generally without notice as jobs must be completed due to flight schedule.  These areas must be considered before applying for this positon.

Mandatory Requirements:

Valid Passport Holder

• Current Full and CLEAN UK Driving License for Trade Insurance Purposes
• Own Transport (motorcar)
• Documented proof of previous 5 years employment or educational training this is for Security purposes.
• No Criminal Record – you will be given a Security Check by MI5 in order to obtain a Security Pass.  Failure to gain clearance will mean immediate termination of employment.
• National Insurance Number
• Bank or Building Society Account – for Payroll

Key Competencies Required:

• Detailing Aircraft is extremely physically demanding and applicant must have excellent levels of Health, Fitness and Stamina.
• The ability to work at extreme Height without ill effect.
• Must be literate and Numerate as a minor degree of paperwork completion might be required.
• Must have good level and understanding of Time Management
• Good Organizational Skills
• Aptitude to learning new skills quickly and effectively
• Strong Minded and Diligent Individual.
• Excellent eye for Detail
• Ability to work well in a Team and alone.
• Good level of spoken English and ability to make yourself easily understood.
• The ability to follow explicit instructions

Training Provisions:

• Airport Induction and basic Fire Safety/First Aid will be provided.
• Full on-the-job Training provided for all aspects of Aviation Detailing
• Training to be provided on areas of Quality Control/Quality Management
• Airport Health & Safety Regulations
• Company H&S Protocols and Procedures

Job Specifications:

Normally it takes 3 months to reach the Intermediate level (Stage 2) of our intensive on-the-job training regime.  During this period you will be on a Trial period contract.  Upon successful completion of this Trial, the decision will be taken whether or not to offer you a full-time contract.
