We are recruiting for a Materials Handler for our pharmaceutical client based in Maidstone.
You will be providing support to the Despatch function to ensure that routine activities are completed in a timely manner. Reporting to the Distribution Manager you will provide operational support to the Despatch function, ensuring that routine activities are completed in line with company policy and procedures. You will also ensure that company materials are handled, stored and distributed in line with various regulations.
Responsibilities:
* Dispenses finished products to meet customer order requirements.
* Prepare shipments to ensure correct packaging, storage temperature, labelling and customer specific requirements.
* Perform routine and non-routine inventory management transactions in line with company systems.
* Assign UK customs procedure codes as required for import and export shipments
* Generate outgoing domestic and export shipment documentation.
* Liaises with freight agents and couriers to organize outgoing shipments as required.
* Manual handling, including the physical movement of goods via mechanical handling aids, including forklift and pallet trucks.
* Lead risk assessments for Despatch and Warehouse activities.
* Use company software applications to support deviation management
* Participates and represents Logistics as required in site initiated projects.
* Actively involved in staff training across all areas of Despatch activities.
Education
* 5 GCSE's (or equivalent CSE) or A-Level/B-TEC or a minimum of 5 years relevant work experience.
Skills
* Experience working with ERP systems
* Experienced in the use of Microsoft Office products, including Word and Excel.
* Knowledge of Quality System (QS) and ISO 9001 requirements.
* Good eye for detail
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Manual handling experience, including forklift and pallet truck operation preferred.
