PETROSTRAT LABORATORY TECHNICIAN

PICKING AND WASH-DOWN - (Ref PS18/02)

Main purpose of job

To process samples within contracted area

Key tasks

• Processing samples in line with agreed procedures
• Be familiar and competent with the following aspects of laboratory work:
• Micro-Picking
• Sample Wash-Down
• Thin Section preparation
• To work to the current laboratory procedures and standards
• Promote good practice always
• Quality control of samples
• Update PIMS  (in-house Access projects data-base) to the required standard in accordance with the project management guidelines
• Ensure all work is completed in line with company HSE guidelines and safety standards
• Maintain work area through good housekeeping
• Ensure that all laboratory work is completed to the highest standards
• Build and maintain client / contact relationships (if required)
• Engage in teamwork and support co-workers as well as having good communication
• Work towards improvement through ADR and HR software
• Participate in HSE auditing and reporting
• Be aware and adhere to company code of conduct/company vision
• Maintain effective relationships with internal and external clients
• Take responsibility for personal development

• Maintaining and updating records accurately and in accordance with data protection requirements
• Working as part of a team to achieve departmental and quality standards
• Taking responsibility for own personal development, in line with agreed performance objectives
• To monitor current processes and suggest / implement better procedures and processes as and when required
• Excellent health and safety standards are maintained in the laboratory

Authorisation level

• Liaise with any member of staff in the company to complete tasks
• Liaise with all companies, vendors, clients and contractors on behalf of PetroStrat to complete tasks
