Job Title: Trainee Surface Finish Technician (Aircraft)

Location: Hungerford, Berkshire

Salary: GBP23,140 Pro Rata

Duration: Fixed Term Contract until December 2018

Introduction:
Our client provides aircraft engineering maintenance solutions to their clients. They are now recruiting for a Trainee Surface Finish Technician (Aircraft) to join their team in their Finishing Department at their site in Hungerford, Berkshire.

THIS IS A FIXED TERM CONTRACT UNTIL DECEMBER 2018, WHICH COULD POTENTIALLY BE EXTENDED DEPENDING ON WORKLOAD. SALARY IS GBP23,140 PRO RATA.

Trainee Surface Finish Technician (Aircraft) Responsibilities:
- Preparation for painting of aircraft and glider components.
- Application of aerodynamic filler to restore close tolerance profile of components.
- Shaping of filler and preparation for paint.
- Finishing of aircraft and glider components after paint.
- Additional aircraft maintenance and hangar tasks may be required from time to time.

Trainee Surface Finish Technician (Aircraft) requirements:
- No formal qualifications are required, however formal engineering training, particularly in painting, finishing or aeronautical engineering would be advantageous.
- No specific knowledge or skills are required; however knowledge and an active interest in gliders or aircraft would be beneficial.
- Experience of paint finishing or manual maintenance tasks and working within a regulated environment is desirable.
- Effective team player with ability to work on own initiative.
- Flexible and adaptable approach to work.

Trainee Surface Finish Technician (Aircraft) Benefits:
- Fixed Term Contract until December 2018, potential to be extended depending on workload.
- GBP23,140 Pro Rata.
- 44?? hours per week - Monday - Thursday 8am - 5.30pm, Friday 8am - 5pm.
