Our client, a manufacturing business based in Hinckley, are looking to appoint an experienced Merchandiser/Production Team Leader to join their small and friendly team.

The ideal candidate will be from a similar background within the manufacturing industry and have worked with overseas manufacturers. They must be extremely confident in using Excel spreadsheets including Pivot Tables and will ideally be familiar with Sage, although training on this will be given.

They are looking for somebody who is confident and can introduce their own processes in line with the business strategy and able to make decisions on their own. As a small team, teamwork and a can-do attitude is a vital part of the role.

Responsibilities:

Sales and Purchases of product:

*Processing new orders from customers
*Liaising with buyers on offers and selections on equipment
*Working closely with the design and technology team to ensure realistic and accurate dates are added for each critical date for the production process
*Holding weekly critical path meetings to identify any issues that may be affecting the delivery date and communication and requesting from the agent/ factory to speed up the processes where needed
*Creating progress reports and liaising on a daily basis with the factory agent, discussing production and delivery issues and looking for ways of improvement.
*Informing customers for any intake delays and requesting delivery extensions if necessary, or simply keeping them informed for the progress of their order

Product:

*Analysing customer manuals and extracting information related to the product packaging, boxing, labelling, delivery standards and order related to the order customer requirements
*Providing factories with bulk packing instructions
*Keeping records of stock availabilities and liaising with the customer for PO receipt deadlines
*Physical stock control and sage updates
*Establishing deadlines for stock offers and preparing spreadsheets to control the stock buys
*Coordinating and arranging the packing, labelling for stock orders. Booking personnel to complete the task.
*Replenishing web stock from bulk

Finance:

*Updating the Sale Order Tracker with new orders or proposed orders and keep accurate record of costs, sale values and margins on a daily basis.
*Holding weekly meetings with the Finance Director to update and pass information for the cash flow records. This includes input of new orders, delayed deliveries or changes in values or grouping of values per order

Shipment:

*Monitoring freight costs and shipment arrangements prior to goods leavening the factory. This includes selecting freight modes, costing and negotiating payment terms with the suppliers
*Approving dispatch of shipments with the forwarders and checking sailing or truck shipments to ensure the UK arrival is in line with the customer delivery date.
