Lawyer - Corporate
You will be based in our Manchester office, and you will be called upon to play a key role in delivering a wide variety of corporate projects. You will also be expected to regularly engage and work with our Corporate team across the UK (based in London and Birmingham) on these projects.This role will provide you with an excellent opportunity to work with other legal specialists in Manchester to help grow our wider legal practice. You will play a central role in developing our business in Manchester and across the Northern region. A desire to network and build relationships is also important as you will be expected to build and develop new and existing relationships within PwC and with clients.Like the rest of our team, we expect the person in this role will enjoy an interesting and challenging workload. We work on a wide range of projects across the specialisms covered by our group; most of our projects involve understanding and applying technical areas of law in detail. A large proportion of our work is carried out alongside non-lawyers in PwC such as tax and deals advisers. Not only does this give us access to projects that other law firms don't see, but it has helped our lawyers develop a deeper understanding of business issues and the commercial context for our advice. Unquestionably, PwC is one of the best known businesses in the world; the PwC brand attracts top tier businesses and many of our clients are household names.You will be expected to work proactively under your own initiative and to liaise effectively with other advisers and members of the team to deliver our projects. Organisational skills, the ability to work under time pressure within a deals environment and the ability to work as part of large teams with broad skill-sets are key attributes we are looking for. The role offers high levels of responsibility, the satisfaction of working on interesting and challenging assignments and participation in a successful team. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and keen to embrace the challenge.Essential skills and experience
Qualified solicitor in England & Wales or equivalent common law jurisdiction
A broad corporate and commercial law background
Strong organisation and client service skills
An interest in working in a variety of corporate areas
Ability to work under time pressure in the deals environment
Primarily a team player but also able to work under own initiative
Clear, articulate and confident in written and verbal communication skills
Willingness to get involved in business development and networking activities
