I have a fantastic opportunity with NHS North of England CSU based in Chester. This role is a temporary assignment for initially 6 months with view to being extended thereafter.

JOB PURPOSE

To be part of the IT Systems and Product Development team in delivering an effective service to NECS and its customers

The post holder will assist in the overall management and performance of the IT Systems and Product Development team, including but not limited to the continued development and maintenance of both public facing and internal websites.

A key aspect of the role will be in contributing to the development of a long term innovative web strategy which supports the objectives of the organisation in improving access to information and streamlined business process.

The post holder is responsible for ensuring that business processes are supported effectively by business and clinical systems within the Organisation. This will be done by managing change and on-going development of systems through the successful implementation of upgrades to existing systems and facilitating the smooth transition to new. In addition the post holder will play a key role in ensuring issues and problems relating to systems within their area are managed through to successful resolution.

ROLE SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

To be responsible for ensuring the timely resolution of incidents and fulfilment of customer requests, in accordance with standard operational procedures and agreed performance criteria

Responsible for the development and implementation of web standards in accordance with appropriate Department of Health, government and international web standards guidelines

When necessary the post may require reports on IT related issues to be written for dissemination to other departments or committees. (e. Capital Bids)

Option analysis and decisions can be within sensitive and complex environments across independent and competing organisations e. political, emotive

The post holder will be required to interpret technical or administrative documentation and advise the Business as to their implications in a manner easily understood.

The post holder will evaluate the submissions and proposals from third party suppliers to evaluate value for money and service comparisons

To be responsible for the prompt escalation of all suspected security incidents to ICT Security Management

EXPERIENCE

Experience designing & developing large scale and high traffic online web applications using technologies (mainly in C#/VB/ASP).

Experience of developing and supporting for multiple web browsers including legacy browsers.

Experience in developing web applications to support mobile browsers.

Experience of software versioning and revision control systems such as SVN, Git or TFS; build deployment to production environments.

Experience in managed testing and automated testing procedures.

Significant experience in supporting and delivering a large, complex and diverse organisational projects to tight deadlines.

Experience with Mobile native application development.

Experience with using SharePoint for collaboration and document management.

Experience of working across organisations and with other agencies.
