Who will I be working with?

Arriva TrainCare (ATC) is an independent rolling stock maintenance and refurbishment business based in Crewe, with depots across 5 locations in the UK. So, what will the role of Health and Safety Officer entail?

Reporting to the HSEQ Manager, you'll be responsible for driving the development of a proactive, responsive and qualitative safety service, supporting the business in all safety related matters with duties including but not limited to;

* Ensuring a safe workplace environment, with accidents and incidents documented and investigated, and improvements implemented
* Reviewing, updating and ensuring policies, procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to
* Carrying out safety audits in all depots and driving the implementation of ISO 45001
* Carrying out and assisting with the review of risk assessments for equipment and operations, and driving corrective actions as needed
* Tracking depot safety inspections and monitoring the completion of resulting actions
* Liaising with external consultants in the provision of health and safety support services

What will I need to be considered for this Health and Safety Officer vacancy?

* Proven experience working with safety systems, ideally gained within the rail or engineering industry
* A valid NEBOSH certification or equivalent is essential
* Experience of formulating, implementing and revising Health and Safety policies and procedures, and handling investigations
* Excellent knowledge of relevant legislations and best practices within the rail vehicle industry
* Good understanding of Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
* Risk assessment trained
* IT literacy with superb knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
* Ability to assess information, evaluate solutions and devise appropriate course of action
* A full valid driving licence and willingness to travel as required

What will I receive in return?

Salary: Up to GBP35,000 per annum, level dependent on experience
