Our client will be one of the largest pensions pools in the UK when established in 2018. They will be one of eight nationally pooled funds, and will oversee the investment of pensions assets, bringing together £43 billion investments of 12 likeminded Local Government Pensions Scheme funds.

They are building an FCA regulated investment company to manage these assets through both internal and external management with a number of investment vehicles, including an Authorised Contractual Scheme. Work on creating the company is well progressed to ensure the structures are in place to start to take on assets from mid- 2018.

They now have an exceptional opportunity for a Senior Operations Analyst to join them in Leeds to be involved in the initial build and development of what will become one of the largest pension pools in the UK. 

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be the central link between the Operations team and the other teams within Border to Coast i.e. Front Office and Risk & Compliance. Managing the key point of contact between Operations and external counterparts such as the Custodian and Depository, you will organise and co-ordinate back and middle office projects, monitor trade and performance and reconciliation of portfolio positions: identifying “breaks” and reacting to resolve accordingly. Overseeing fund Performance and ensuring accuracy of Custodians performance and reporting, you will be responsible for Corporate Actions Reconciliation and Cash Management.

With previous back / middle office experience within an asset management company (or similar industry) and of working on communication flows, you will be reactive where required to resolve or prevent issues and be proactive in seeking out improvements for the team and organisation. An effective facilitator and co-ordinator who utilises the input of other teams and counterparts, you will have good knowledge of financial instruments (including cash, futures and derivatives) and financial information and management systems. Additionally, you will demonstrate a strong initiative and excellent problem-solving skills.
