Financial Manager and Book-Keeper
Job Summary
Raintree House Holidays Ltd is a holiday house rental and management business based near Padstow, North Cornwall.
We are a young team driving a 30 year old successful business in a very prestigious and beautiful part of North Cornwall. The team are motivated and are aiming for growth over the next 5 years.
We are looking for a special individual who can provide the experience and hands-on financial bookkeeping and guidance that we need. The role requires the candidate to keep on top of plenty of book-keeping transactions as well as to maintain a clear head to deal with often complex transactions and relationships. You will be working with an assistant.
The job is expected to be full-time at 35-40 hours per week. But, we may consider a slightly shorter working week, at 32.5 hours + per week, either over 4 or 5 days. Some flexibility around weekly hours may be needed to cover particularly busy periods. The role may equally suit an up-and-coming bookkeeper or a more experienced employee who is looking for part-time work, but experience and confidence is essential.
The role is for immediate start, or within as short a time period as possible.
Responsibilities and duties
Providing complete accountancy support to a busy holiday rental and management business, the role is varied and involves duties such as:
- Banking, to include on-line banking, paying cheques & bank transfers
- Purchase Ledger - processing purchase invoices for the business and for our clients
- Sales ledger and Revenue
- Quarterly VAT returns
- Running Rental statements for our clients three times a year
- Updating of our Rental Software for the re-billing of clients payments
- Preparation of monthly payroll data, including Auto enrolment pension, for external Payroll provider
- Preparation of annual company accounts to trial balance level and liaison with External Accountants
- Development and preparation of management statistics and accounts, with significant work in Excel and data reporting
- Build relationships with individual owners to assist with issues arising from Rental Statements and other ad hoc owner requests.
Qualifications and skills
Essential skills for this role:
- Experience in a significant Accounts position, with appropriate qualifications
- Dedicated and detailed, an ability to provide high levels of accuracy and numeracy
- Familiarity with modern financial software packages
- Good level of skill and familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
- Ease with computers and email
- Experience of preparing VAT returns
- Beneficial experience:
- Experience of Quickbooks Online Accounts software
Salary will be £28,000 - £32,000 dependent on experience.
