Salary: £22,081 per annum

10 Months Temporary Contract – 37 hours per week

Housingrecruit.com is advertising for a temporary Telecare Officer on behalf of our client a leading social housing provider based in Colne.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone to join their busy Telecare team at based out of Colne, Lancashire as they are going through a period of growth. The role of Telecare Officer is to visit, assess, programme and install Telecare equipment as required and in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidelines and to ensure the organisation can support and assist with independent living.

The successful applicant can expect their normal day to day duties to consist of:
 

  1.  Driving every day in a work provided van to appointments across East Lancashire as scheduled by the Telecare admin team
  2. Ensuring safe installation and repair of faults  following both working instructions and industry standard guidelines; some working at height indoors and external drilling is involved
  3. To develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of telecare equipment, related sensors and associated technologies
  4. To deal sensitively with customers in their own home environment, at a convenient time as agreed by them, to fully explain, demonstrate and install the use of equipment.


In order to fulfil this role to its fullest, you will require the following skills, knowledge & experience:
 

  1. Experience of working with telecare, telecoms or similarly technical equipment is highly desirable
  2. Experience of inputting and retrieving data on computerised systems
  3. Experience of undertaking Risk Assessments; both person-centred & environmental
  4. An ability to work under your own initiative and take ownership of your own workload
  5. An ability to develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of telecare equipment, related sensors & associated technologies
  6. An ability to empathise, be patient and sensitive to some of the most vulnerable people in society



Due to the nature of the work, a full current & valid driving license is required, as well as the successful applicant undertaking a driving assessment, as you will be given a company van.

Very occasional weekend and Bank Holiday working may be necessary.
 

In addition, the successful applicant will be required to complete a full DBS check.
