Salary: £29,235 - £33,438 per annum

The Fire & Rescue Service have a unique opportunity for an experienced driving instructor to join their well stabilised Driving School team based in their Road Safety Experience in Rochester.

Role Overview:

You will play a key role in teaching their staff how to drive safely and in accordance with legislative statutory (DVSA) and recognised Awarding Body (Lantra, RTITB), guidelines for Driver Training by providing practical and theoretical driving tuition, including off road techniques to standards acceptable to the operational requirements of the Service.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Key features of the role include practical and theoretical instruction, assessment, familiarisation and re-validation training in a variety of disciplines to meet the organisational requirements of the Service. (Licence acquisition, revalidation and remedial training for Large Goods Vehicle, trailer towing, car based driving, vehicle lift training and off road terrain).

You will use your well-honed coaching skills to teach individuals to drive competently using tried and tested methods whilst designing innovative training solutions which ensure that training courses are designed to suit a range of learners needs.

Requirements:

You will have proven experience of carrying out the role of an advanced driving instructor. Those with experience of teaching in an emergency services environment would be advantageous although not essential.

The successful applicant will require a DBS check.
