New opportunity not to be missed. NFER is looking to recruit an enthusiastic Project Support Officer to join the team based in Slough. Joining us on a full time permanent basis, you will receive a competitive salary of circa £26,000 per annum depending on qualifications and experience.

NFER is an independent research organisation, which undertakes projects in all sectors of education. Joining our friendly, hard-working and successful Research and Product Operations team you’ll help make a positive difference in education.  

As a Project Support Officer you’ll assist the Survey Support Manager in managing the work and staff within the survey support team. This work will involve the administration of surveys, coding /marking events, products and test development work. Ensuring that all work is managed to a high standard and to the agreed timescales to ensure an excellent customer experience.

The Project Support Officer role entails:

- Continually looking for ways to improve our processes

- Co-ordinating and planning large scale projects with pack and dispatch and checking research, data and assessment materials

- Working flexibly and reacting at speed to urgent situations

- Taking a lead role in specific projects and supervising staff

- Supporting marking events management and attending off-site events

- Telephoning to gather information from schools and individuals

- Supporting both our telephone unit team and test administrator team when required

This role does have physically demanding aspects including packing and unpacking large numbers of parcels

About you

To be successful in this Project Support Officer role you will need to have an ability to plan and supervise work, sticking to tight timescales and be willing and able to get involved in the despatch processes.

You will also be able to demonstrate:

- Excellent organisational skills with an ability to work on own initiative

- Strong attention to detail with numeric and literacy accuracy 

- Ability to use Excel and Word to an intermediate level (including mail-merge, pivot tables etc.) and can learn and use various database and other applications quickly

- Good written communication skills with excellent telephone manner
